Overview

The Westerleigh Tennis Club, a private tennis club located in Staten Island, NY since 1910, welcomes new members within club limits.

A tennis club is a great place to meet people and to find other people to play with. At a tennis club, people of all ages and abilities can play together. You can meet new people or exercise with old friends.Tennis is a great social sport.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be experienced tennis players. If you are new to tennis, we suggest you take lessons so that when you do join the Club, you will enjoy playing with our members. This also applies to additional family members under your membership.

Membership Types & Dues

The Club offers three levels of membership:

Bond Holder Membership. To apply, members must be an Associate member (primary) in good standing for at least 1 full season. The number of Bond Holder Memberships is governed by the Club ByLaws. The Bond Holder and his/her spouse/domestic partner are equally recognized as the Bond Holder and have the same voting rights. However, their membership only counts as one vote, not two.
Associate Membership. All new members enter as Associates. Associate Membership applications can include a tennis playing spouse or domestic partner or a child under the age of 21 residing at home or college student up to age 23. These memberships are classified as Associate Plus One.
Junior Membership (18 and under).

Annual Dues
Bond Holder $350
Associate $350
Associate Plus One $450
Junior (Per Child) $50

If the Club encounters extraordinary expenses in any year, members may be required to pay an additional one-time assessment.

Application Procedures

The Club strongly encourages applicants to have two or more existing members sponsor them. If not, the applicant will undergo an alternative member assessment. The applicant must complete the Application Form. The timing of the application will help determine the applicant's place on the Club's Waiting list.

We try to keep our membership level at an optimum level, and each year our acceptance of new members is based on the number of returning members. As a result we often have a waiting list of applicants which we address in the order that we receive the applications. Please email the completed application to westerleightennisclub369@yahoo.com. We currently have a waitlist and are no longer accepting applications for 2024. However, you may submit an application for the 2025 season.
